The Perfect Fluffy American Style Pancake

We encountered some challenges when attempting to reduce the recipe’s measurements by half, and achieving the ideal batter consistency proved to be a bit tricky. As a result, be prepared to enjoy a generous stack of these delicious pancakes when you make them.

Ingredients:

  1. 160g of plain flowers
  2. 1 teaspoon of salt
  3. 2 tbsp of sugar
  4. 1 table spoon of baking powder
  5. 1 medium egg
  6. 240 ml of any milk
  7. 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  8. 3 tbsp of melted butter & extra to butter pan
  9. A squeeze of lemon juice.
  10. Syrup of your choosing

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, sieve plain flower, salt, sugar & baking powder.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix room temperature milk with one egg and your vanilla extract, once combined, add your 3tbsp of melted butter.
  3. Pour you mixed wet ingredients into your mixed flour and gently stir, until the ingredients have just combined, do not over-stir should almost look lumpy.
  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter.
  5. Pour a ladleful of the pancake batter onto the pan to make each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip the pancakes and cook the other side until golden brown.
  7. Serve your fluffy American-style pancakes with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream.
