Two Arrested as Police Investigate Fatal Collision in On Leys Avenue Dagenham

The Metropolitan Police are calling for witnesses following a tragic incident in Dagenham that resulted in the death of a 63-year-old woman. The collision occurred on Leys Avenue at approximately 08:26hrs on Friday, 26 January, where the woman was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s family has been notified and is being supported by specialist officers.Investigations into the incident are being led by the Roads and Transport Policing Command, who have determined that two vehicles were involved in the collision. In connection with the case, two men, aged 42 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and are currently on bail pending further inquiries.

Officers are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Rainham Road South at the time of the incident or anyone with information that could aid the police investigation to come forward. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the police via 101 or directly through the ‘X’ @MetCC, citing reference CAD 1452/26Jan. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
