A man is currently under investigation on suspicion of being equipped to steal after patrolling officers intercepted a car with suspected cloned plates.
During a search of the vehicle in Castle Hedingham yesterday evening (Saturday, October 28), officers discovered suspicious items, including balaclavas, wire cutters, and latex gloves.
The incident unfolded while officers were conducting patrols on the A131, heading towards High Garrett. They noticed a vehicle that appeared to be using cloned number plates.
Following a pursuit, the car was eventually stopped on Nunnery Street, Castle Hedingham, shortly after 11 pm. At this point, several occupants exited the vehicle, and threats were made toward the officers.
A 21-year-old man from Romford was taken into custody and is currently being questioned on suspicion of going equipped to steal, failing to stop when directed, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.
