Firefighting teams from Basildon, Chelmsford, and Orsett have successfully extinguished a significant fire at a scrap yard near Mores Lane, Brentwood (22nd April). The incident, which saw four vehicles, several cylinders, and a small outbuilding engulfed in flames, prompted a swift and coordinated response from local fire services.
Crew Manager Jason Gould from the Essex County Fire & Rescue praised the efforts of his team:
“Crews have done a great job to surround the fire and stop it from spreading further. There were four vehicles alight including cylinders and a small outbuilding.”
The fire, which could have escalated into a larger disaster, was contained thanks to the strategic efforts of the firefighters involved. An investigation into the cause of the blaze is slated to begin later today, aiming to determine the origins and potential preventatives of such incidents in the future.
The quick containment of the fire prevented any further damage to surrounding properties and ensured the safety of local residents. The Essex County Fire & Rescue Service continues to monitor the site closely and will provide updates as the investigation unfolds.
